Weekly Language Goals

While in a boring meeting today, my mind wandered and I started thinking about how to achieve my goal of learning German in 9months. The more I thought about it, the more I became overwhelmed with the magnitude of the task ahead of me, until I remembered the article I read on bellanaija a few days ago. Apparently, it's been proven that writing down goals increases your chance of achieving them. So, following the advice from the article (as well as GNG's example), I decided write and break down my goal of learning German into smaller, achievable and measurable steps. Now I've got a bunch of objectives that I will try to attain weekly. Every Monday from now until the 1st of October 2015, I will evaluate my progress and see how much I've managed to achieve. If nothing else, at least it means that each week, there'll be a new post on the blog...

    1. Hi Mazino,
Isn't it just! I've learnt from my previous experiences though that I just need to work hard and more importantly be consistent, even if it's just 10mins I do daily....
      Thanks for visiting the blog.

      Have a lovely weekend!

  5. This is a great idea olu. I used to do two hours daily but as I got into the language school, that ended but I do like it. Duolingo I think is cool, only problem being it doesn't really explain a lot except you join\read other users convo. Memrise is another great app. Babel isn't free but 10€ a month and u learn a lot(you have to email them if u wish to end payment if you do decide to pay or the hungry ppl will keep taking your money)
Hey we should totally do a Skype thing where once a month we brush up our skills!

    1. Thanks. I just really wanted to be serious with it. I really really want to achieve my goal. You're right, Duolingo doesn't really help with the grammar, but I'm using a good book and a great website (http://german-grammar.de/) alongside. Do you know it?

Thanks for the other helpful sites you've mentioned, but I'm cheap (as you know), and I'mtrying to learn without making monetary expenditures. I've got a bit of time, and I learnt French more or less by myself too so....Hope I don't given up in 3months sha!

  6. Are u telling me? I had to convince G to stop the payment although it did help me with my placement test so it wasn't all bad but i certainly will not be paying any app seeing as I'm already in school...
Will look up the site u mentioned. Never heard of it.
